One of those "must do this at least once in my life" kind of lists. For me, attending Coachella Valley Music Festival in California was one of those list items. Being a music lover and an avid festival goer, it seemed only natural to attend one of the most epic festivals in the world. Not really having any idea of what I was doing, I bought myself a ticket and booked my way there. Or so I thought. And why should this trip be any different? Actually the chaos for this trip started long before I left the country when my return flight home from Bangladesh was cancelled and the booking company expected me to pay for a whole new flight. Um, I think not. Then things seemed to settle down and I was ready to have a stress free holiday. Or so I thought… Mon, 27 May 2019 01:57:01 -0400 https://www.enfocarphoto.com/post/549407282499/brisbane-to-myanmar-lets-start-off-with https://www.enfocarphoto.com/post/549407282499/brisbane-to-myanmar-lets-start-off-with?pub=1558936621 Brunei - Extreme Hiking in Extreme Heat Today my host Maya was taking me hiking up in the Tasek Lama hills. We weren’t going until the afternoon in the hopes that the weather would be a little cooler. So I had the day to lounge about the house and do nothing which I was quite looking forward to. I caught a Grab to the Mosque and then walked approximately 15km to the other side of the city. This is what I saw on the way..... There were a couple off the coast of Kota Kinabalu and I researched doing a tour of some sort. But it turns out the tours were quite expensive. After further research I discovered you didn’t need to do a tour at all and it was possible to make your own way out to one of the islands. And it was a hell of a lot cheaper. I had a long day of traveling ahead of me so I was pretty annoyed when I woke up at 5am and couldn’t get back to sleep. This was just going to make my day extra long. I bummed around until it was time to check out of my hotel. Despite its flaws I did enjoy staying there Tue, 11 Dec 2018 02:59:32 -0500 https://www.enfocarphoto.com/post/441852113250/leaving-palawan-a-long-ass-day-for-a https://www.enfocarphoto.com/post/441852113250/leaving-palawan-a-long-ass-day-for-a?pub=1544515172 Palawan - Monsoonal Storms and Power Outages Palawan was probably the place I was looking forward to the most on this trip and even though I wasn’t going to the super touristy El Nido, I was still looking forward to hanging out in Puerto Princesa for a week. Despite the fact that I didn’t have a flushing toilet and there were literally only about three places I could eat (McDonalds, Chow King and the small cafe up the road) I was still optimistic. I wasn’t sure how bad the traffic would be in the mornings so I made sure I had plenty of time to get to the airport. Turns out the traffic wasn’t bad and I ended up at the airport four hours early. I was flying to Puerto Princess today, the capital of Palawan. I was ready for some tropical island sunshine and chill out vibes. Of course what we want isn’t always what we get… Thu, 29 Nov 2018 02:04:14 -0500 https://www.enfocarphoto.com/post/415278981518/palawan-not-off-to-a-good-start https://www.enfocarphoto.com/post/415278981518/palawan-not-off-to-a-good-start?pub=1543475054 Manila - Unnecessary Apprehension. Im not going to lie, I was apprehensive about my trip to the Philippines. Specifically Manila.
